D-biotin is the only one of biotin's eight possible stereoisomers with vitamin activity, both the naturally occurring form in food and the form targeted by commercial synthesis (per USP monograph) -- bare "Biotin" (the largest raw_form bucket, ~15,405 rows) is treated as the same molecule.

NOTE: a larger phase 3 follow-up (SPI2, Lancet Neurol 2020) did NOT confirm significance on the primary endpoint -- the positive MS-SPI result was not replicated.
  • Note: studied_dose values are from a pharmacologic MS trial, not typical consumer hair/ nail dosing (2.5-10mg/day) -- no verifiable primary citation was found at that lower dose range this session, so it isn't represented here.
